ICCC’20 goes Fully Virtual
The evolution of the COVID-19 crisis, the concerns about safety and well-being of the participants and the current travel constraints have taken the organisation of turning ICCC’20 100% digital.
We are aware of how extremely difficult it is to organize a ICCC without the human warmth that only the physical presence of the computational creativity community would allow, in a mix of formal and informal events as in previous editions.
The good news is that the number of submissions and accepted papers has substantially increased, which demonstrates the vitality of our community. The conference will comprise a diversified ensemble of activities that will certainly contribute to making ICCC’20 a live and interactive event that will offer a good experience to all participants. We are also adjusting the schedule to allow participants from a range of timezones to participate live, and will set up channels for getting more people actively involved in the discussions.
Moreover, the costs of the conference will decrease, which allows us to considerably lower the fees. We will announce the new fees and open the registration process in the next few days. As participants will also save on travel and accommodation, the costs for taking part in the conference will allow more people to register and thus widen the participation to a larger audience.
The program is being adjusted and will be updated on our website as more details are known, but we can now announce the first draft of the agenda:
- Days 1 & 2: September 7-8 (Monday and Tuesday): Workshops, Tutorials, Doctoral Consortium and Art&Sound Event
- Days 3 & 4: September 9-10 (Wednesday and Thursday): Plenary Track with thematic sessions, Keynote Speakers, Poster Session and Demo Session
- Day 5: September 11 (Friday): Community meeting
All long and short presentations in the Plenary Track, as well in the Poster and Demo sessions (days 3&4) , will be pre-recorded and made available to all registrants. Authors will be contacted soon with instructions on how to provide their recordings. All the live activities will be run in videoconference, complemented with other synchronous and asynchronous interaction channels. The program will provide plenty of time for live discussions.
As for the events on days 1&2, the organisers of each event will soon make available specific instructions to the participants, in each event web page.
Despite the constraints, we are sure that all participants will actively collaborate in making ICCC ’20 an engaging conference. Keep tuned and book these days in your agenda: September 7-11.
We will meet online.
