Biography

Entangled Others is the shared studio practice of artists Feileacan Kirkbride McCormick and Sofia Crespo. Their work focuses on ecology, artificial lifeforms and generative arts, with an emphasis on giving the more-than-human new forms a presence and life in digital space.

Jesse Engel


Biography

Jesse Engel is lead research scientist on Magenta, a research team within Google DeepMind exploring the role of machine learning in creative applications. He did his Bachelors, and Ph.D., at UC Berkeley, studying the Martian atmosphere and quantum dot nanoelectronics respectively, and a joint postdoc at Berkeley and Stanford on neuromorphic computing. Afterward, he worked with Andrew Ng to help found the Baidu Silicon Valley AI Lab and was a key contributor to DeepSpeech 2. He joined Google Brain in 2016, where his research on Magenta includes creating new generative models for audio, symbolic music, adapting to user preferences, and work to close the gap between research and musical applications. Some of his projects include NSynth, GANSynth, DDSP, and recently SingSong, MusicLM, MusicFX “DJ mode”, and Google’s new experimental suite of Music AI Tools.

 

Giovanni Emanuele Corazza

Title: Solstice of Creativity: The Longest Day in the Dynamic Universal Creative Process

Biography

Giovanni Emanuele Corazza is a Full Professor at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, founder of the Marconi Institute for Creativity (MIC), and Member of the Board of the International Society for the Study of Creativity and Innovation (ISSCI). He holds a PhD in Telecommunications and Microelectronics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and a PhD in Psychology from the Université de Paris. His research interests are focused on the development of the Dynamic Creativity Framework based on the Dynamic Definition of Creativity. He was President of the Fondazione Guglielmo Marconi in the years 2019-2023, President of the CINECA consortium for supercomputing in the years 2017-2019, Head of the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems (DEIS) in the years 2009-2012, Member of the Partnership Board of the 5G Infrastructure Association in the years 2013-2018, Member of the Board of Directors of the University of Bologna in the years 2012-2018, Chairman of the School for Telecommunications in the years 2000-2003, Chairman of the Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems Task Force (ASMSTF), Founder and Chairman of the Integral Satcom Initiative (ISI), a European Technology Platform devoted to Satellite Communications.
