As a field of research, this area is thriving, with progress in formalising what it means for software to be creative, along with many exciting and valuable applications of creative software in the sciences, the arts, literature, gaming and elsewhere. The Fifth International Conference on Computational Creativity will be held from June 10 to 13, 2014 at the Jožef Stefan Institute, in beautiful Ljubljana, Slovenia.

There will be 36 technical papers presented in 25 minute slots, and 15 late breaking papers delivered in 10 minute slots, as per the Programme. Authors of accepted papers come from countries including: Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malta, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. There will also be an invited talk by Prof. Oliver Deussen from the University of Konstanz, with the title: Non-photorealistic Rendering Getting Physical.

In addition to the scientific programme, there will also be:

An Art Exhibition entitled: You / Me / It

A Tutorial Session with an introduction to Computational Creativity and a focus on engineering creative Twitterbots. Note that there are five studentships available to fund attendance of the tutorial and conference.

A Book Launch

A social programme, including a welcome reception, a tour of Ljubljana and conference meal in the castle

You can learn more by looking at the websites for previous conferences.
